This site began as a collection of her favorite restaurants and museums and has expanded to include more than 1,000 Upstate attractions. When she’s not out searching for Upstate venues to add to the directory, you can find her cheering the Clemson Men’s basketball team on to victory. (Her husband, Shaka, is an assistant coach.) Maya holds a bachelor’s degree in social studies from Harvard University and a master’s degree in editorial journalism from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism. She is the president of Ralston Payne Enterprises LLC, a writing and custom publishing company. E-mail her at maya@upstateupclose.com. We are also part of the ::ten network |
